  1. where can i get the soundtrack for escape goat? the soundtrack is soo amazing i love it :3 great game i hope there will be a sequel 🙂

  2. I just posted a link to the soundtrack which is available on Bandcamp. As an experiment, it’s pay-what-you-please with $0 minimum. Glad you are enjoying the soundtrack and game!

  3. Just downloaded Escape Goat for Xbox 360 yesterday evening after wanting to take a break from SKYRIM – Excellent, I love it! Old school gaming still has its place, it’s especially welcome from those like Magical Time Bean who have the skill and talent to execute it so well. Escape Goat is a fantastic achievement! Thanks for the FUN!

  4. This game is AWESOME. Just bought it tonight. Reminds me of the days of Lode Runner and Jet Pack— with a puzzle twist. The puzzles are fun, the level design is great…I have to say this is in a league of it’s own on the XBL indie marketplace. Keep it up, Ian!

  5. I can now reveal that Entryway, Royalty and Secret Gears are my favourites. I smiled whenever I heard one of them in the game.

Did you compose the soundtrack yourself, Ian? It’s very professional.

  6. Thank you! Yes, I wrote all the music as well. My background is in composing for game soundtracks, so my goal is to leave a lasting impression with the music.

  7. Please port fast STOP People starving STOP Situation dire STOP please send more more goats.

  8. When are you going to make escape goat for the pc. i don’t have an xbox and it looks amazing

  9. @Cole Smith, this is my main project once I’m done with patch #1 for Soulcaster PC and GDC has come and gone. Definitely before summer.

  10. Oops, I didn’t realize newest comments were at the bottom. Anyway, I can’t wait to play this game!!

Goodluck working on the PC version.. You already have a sale with me!

  11. Playing this game I feel like I’m 13 again.

    Great soundtrack!

Love the effect of the skull being lighted by the fire. Very stylish!

  12. Hey ian i was wondering if i would be okay for me to use some songs from escape goat in a custom minecraft map im making? if not thats cool, but if you are okay with that then that would be amazing + if anybody asks ill tell them its from the escape goat soundtrack and to check out escape goat.

  13. Any news on a steam release? Or at least one of those temporary pages some games set up on steam when in bundles so that keys can be given out so people can still get it in their steam libraries?

  14. @colorobliv No news on that front just yet. If it’s practical for me to get Steam keys to people who bought the bundle, I will try for that!

  15. Haha, man I’ve never heard about your game at all but when I saw it in the Royal Bundle I just HAD to buy it lol. It looks totally awesome.

It would be really great if you could eventually get some steam keys for us. And maybe add some achievements in the steam version too. =)

  16. Man, this game is giving me a serious DOS-era vibe. I don’t know if it’s intentional or not, but it’s fantastic. I’ve really missed playing games like this.

  17. After playing the Soulcaster games the Indie Royale bundle was an instant buy. I wasn’t disappointed! The polish and level design really shines and I finished the main game in one sitting. The extra levels are very cunning and I look forward to slowly working my way through them.

Can’t wait for your next release!

  18. Man… I just finished the game. It’s somehow very addictive. Very nice work!

  19. Great game!
really enjoyable especially if you lika a challenge.
I reached the 37% on the All Intesive Purposes, and I’m sweating for every key, uff I’m getting old 😀

    Congrats

  20. @Chris I hadn’t seen Paganitzu until now, and I can definitely see the similarities. Most say Solomon’s Key, some say Sokoban…

  21. It’s a nice and very addictive game. Especially the “All Intesive Purposes” levels are real challenges. The other levels were a bit too easy for me. But in my opinion there should be an option to up and download selfmade levels to/from the community.

  22. I’d like to say THANK YOU for releasing this on GOG. I hate when games are only available on DRM-based services like Steam, and hope to see future MTB games on DRM-free alternative stores as well. Might I also suggest DotEmu as another DRM-free store that you can get the game on? Thanks!

  23. You’re welcome–so far so good with GoG, and I have plans to launch Escape Goat 2 there as well. I haven’t used DotEmu but will take a look at them when I get a chance to think about more distribution options!

  24. Loving this on PC. Going well with my bacon sandwich and coffee on a Saturday morning! Very charming atmosphere and the music’s great.

    Nice job.

  25. This game is better than it has any right to be. In fact, it’s perfect. It’s just perfect. You did an amazing job with this game and I look forward to what Escape Goat 2 has to bring to the table.

  26. thank you. as a Linux (Lubuntu) user who thought “sure there’s a couple great games for Linux, but mostly games are for other people; nobody cares about us”, I recently discovered steam. Soon (after I get a decent vidcard and a bit more ram) I’ll be getting some of the bigger, badder games they have, but meantime yours is the first I’ve paid money for. I have to say it was well spent. This is like one of those very few truly great lost NES treasures that I find when digging through old roms. Thank you for bringing back that kind of joy.

  27. Great game! although since i switched to windows 8.1, it crashes after i hit Play (the map editor etc works well). Seen some forum where some guy solved it by deleting the saved games folder but it did nothing for me. please advise because i love this game! (see my email address) thx!

  28. Hello,

I posted about that since i switched to windows 8.1, the game crashes when i hit Play. level editor etc. works but not that. Found the crash logs. The problem is: my name is Dávid, and so is my windows user folder named where it wants to save. It has an “á” in it, instead of “a”, thus the crash. Solving/renaming it is a real PITA, i just kinda hope the game itself could be fixed to handle this.

  29. Thanks for the update–this should be something we can patch in (file and directory stuff, especially extended characters, have caused a lot of bugs for us so far). Glad you are able to get it working in the meantime!
